RESONATE – Expression in Movement & Colour

We cordially invite you to RESONATE – Expression in Movement & Colour, a dance-based, sensory art experience with dance teacher and art historian Vivien Foller as part of the OSTRALE Biennale 2025.
In an age where our everyday lives are characterised by sensory overload, acceleration and alienation, we often lose touch with our bodies. It becomes a mere shell, a functional tool, or even a waste container for our consumption. But what if we began to understand our bodies as living organisms? As vessels that not only reflect our relationship to the world, but also embody it in a living way?

RESONATE – Expression in Movement & Colour is a body-based educational format that understands the exhibition as a place of reception and movement: a space in which aesthetic experience, somatic practice, and political questions intertwine.

Together, we move through the visual worlds of the exhibition, entering with our bodies the spaces that the artists make accessible to us through their works. Color, form, and composition are the coordinates we use to orient ourselves in order to find access to our inner worlds.

In individual and group modules, the central socio-political questions of the OSTRALE Biennale become the starting point for exploratory, experience-based movement. In this process, artistic content is transformed into impulses for movement, occasions for shifts in perception, and physically experiential spaces for discourse. For art is not only content and expression—it is also discourse, provocation, and friction. When not only the mind but also the body opens up to a work of art, we can find a much deeper access to art and thus to the world.
